Celostátní setkání seniorů řeckých obcí, které letos pořádala Řecká obec Karviná pod patronací AŘO.
Vzhledem k přetrvávající pandemické situaci byl původní termín konání 30. 5. 2020 přesunut na 15. 8. 2020.
Po příjezdu všech účastníků a srazu na venkovní zahrádce kavárny NEZOCAFE, která se nachází na Univerzitním náměstí v Karviné - Fryštátě, kde bylo pro zúčastněné připraveno malé pohoštění. Slavnostní zahájení setkání provedli předseda rady ŘO Karviná a předseda správní rady AŘO v ČR p. Christos Bialas. V prostorách kavárny byla k shlédnutí instalovaná výstava uměleckých prací autorů z řad členů ŘO Karviná, kterou uvedl p. Paris Michopulos.
Následně jsme se pěšky přesunuli do prostor Po
Organizování pravidelného Setkání seniorů posiluje soudržnost řecké komunity v České republice. Generační kontinuita je pro naši vlast příznačná, proto Setkání seniorů představuje jeden z pilířů aktivit Asociace řeckých obcí v České republice.

Taneční soubor Nea Elpida - [Νεα Ελπίδα - Nová (Mladá) Naděje] vznikl v roce 2002. První členové souboru byly děti navštěvující kurzy výuky řeckého jazyka pří Řeckých obcích Karviná a Třinec a děti navštěvující kurz řeckých tanců při Řecké obci Bohumín.
Soubor se účastnil mnoha seminářů výuky řeckých tanců pod vedením zkušených lektorů z řad tanečních souborů působících v České republice a také lektorů z Řecka. Tyto semináře organizovala jednak Asociace řeckých obcí v České republice a jednak Lyceum Řekyň v České republice.
Za tu dobu se členové souboru naučili a zdokonalili v tancích téměř ze všech oblastí nejen současného Řecka, ale také z oblastí kde sídlí, či sídlili Řekové. Po celou tu dobu se soubor účastnil a účastní akcí, které organizují Řecké obce (celorepublikově), ale také jako nedílná součást tanečního souboru Lycea Řekyň, na akcích pořádaných touto organizací. Zejména to jsou akce pořádané k oslavám svátků a významných dnů Řecké republiky - 25. 3. 1821 - den počátků povstání proti osmanské nadvládě, které vedlo ke vzniku novodobého Řecka, 28. 10. 1941 – den, kdy se Řekové postavili na odpor a zahnali italského okupanta za II. světové války. Dále jsou to oslavy Velikonoc a vítání Nového roku.
Soubor se účastnil také mnoha folklorních festivalů, a to jak v České republice (Strážnice, Jánošíkův dukát) tak i v Řecku. Ne nepodstatné jsou jeho účasti na Dnech národnostních menšin pořádaných různými městy - Karviná, Bohumín, Třinec, Brno, Javorník, Ostrava aj.
Za celou dobu prošlo souborem mnoho tanečnic a tanečníků.
V současné době taneční soubor působí při Řecké obci Karviná.
Posláním tanečního souboru Nea Elpida je udržování a šíření tradic řeckého folkloru, zachovat povědomí u řecké menšiny v České republice a popularizace řeckého folkloru u ostatních obyvatel a menšin v České republice.
V letošním roce oslaví taneční soubor Nea Elpida 15. výročí vzniku.

Řecký politický exil a národnostní menšina v českých zemích
Každý z nás "starších" a určitě i ti mladší slyšeli vyprávění o exodu z Řecka. Každý zná nějaký ten střípek z velké mozaiky utrpení politických exulantů po hrozivé občanské válce, která ničila Řecko po čtyři roky, kdy zbytek Evropy se vzpamatovával z druhé světové války již v míru.
Znají příběhy svých rodičů, prarodičů, příbuzných. Ale myslím, že ne každý dokázal předat sílu toho příběhu vcelku. Protože každý viděl jen ten svůj kousek života, který změnil životaběh na další generace.
Tasula Zissaki - Tassula Healey dokázala sebrat mnohá vyprávění a vzpomínky našich do útlé knížky, kterou nakonec nechala přeložit i do češtiny.
Při čtení jednotlivých příběhů, komentovaných snahou rekapitulovat, vyvstane teprve člověku před očima utrpení i síla Řeků, kteří dokázali do určité doby vzdorovat a nakonec organizovaně a zodpovědně emigrovat do "neznáma".
Člověk si při čtení tohoto svědectví teprve uvědomí celou velikost toho, co se vlastně událo před těmi více jak 65 lety. Jeden rodinný příběh, byť těžký, nedokáže zobrazit tu velikost, tragičnost i sílu příběhu řeckých politických emigrantů a jejich potomků v Československu.
Jsem rád, že paní Zissaki vzala tento úkol na sebe a zhostila se ho krásně.
Myslím, že každý z nás by tu knihu se všemi dochovanými příběhy měl mít ve své knihovně. Nejen pro sebe, ale hlavně pro své děti, aby si uvědomily, odkud jsme přišli, co jsme prožili a kam vlastně patříme.
Vzhledem k tomu, že se nejedná o běžně dostupnou knihu a zaznamenal jsem nemálo zájemců na FB o její zakoupení, myslím, že nebude od věci ji mít připravenu 31.12.2015, tedy na Silvestra, tedy na naší silvestrovské zábavě k předání případným zájemcům.
